Despite its modest size, Shuklaphanta boasts rich biodiversity across grasslands, sal forests, riverine wetlands, and oxbow lakes.

- Swamp deer (barasingha): Over 2,000 individuals — the park’s flagship species
- Royal Bengal tiger: Small but stable population, elusive due to low visitor presence
